Hey heavy haulers, we hope you’re all doing well out there. So far 2022 has been a busy one for us and we hope it’s been the same way for you.
At this early point in the year, many people are trying their hardest to keep their resolutions going strong. Whatever your resolution was, we hope you’re sticking to it and if not, it’s ok there’s always next year.

Many people have chosen to help themselves by maybe going to the gym, eating better, or developing a new skill. Knowing that we’ve been thinking a lot about how we can help our community out. We thought it would be a great idea to answer the question that we come across the most on our site;
“How do I become a certified escort driver?”
or
"How do I become a pilot car driver?"
We’ll take you through the process of becoming one in New York City since that is where the majority of our crew has gotten certified. It is honestly relatively straightforward, but if I had not gotten this advice I wouldn't have even known where to start. Be sure to check your specific requirements for your city or state.
I will link you to the NY DMV’s website, so you could follow their instructions, but if anything is unclear or you just want a streamlined list of steps please read below.
Step 1: Go to the ,New York DMV website and download the study guide. I will include it ,here as well.
Step 2: Make sure you read it through and I mean actually read it. They will ask detailed questions on the test and they will come directly from here.
Step 3: After you’ve prepared and read the manual to the point you feel confident enough, you then need to check with your local DMV and see what their testing availability is. Quick note some DMVs may be taking appointments online only, so just be sure to double-check beforehand.
Step 4: You must get 70% correct in order to pass, so again be sure you’re ready. It has taken plenty of people a few tries to pass it.
Step 5: You’ll receive a temporary Escort License and before you know it you'll have the official one mailed to you.
Step 6: Join the heavy hauler ways and hit the road!
